Hoyt’s Truck Center

Industry-leading truck, trailer and diesel repair

Mobile service when you diesel repair or other help on the road

Few people know as much about truck maintenance and repair as Hoyt Moore. Straight out of high school, Hoyt started working as a diesel technician for a trucking company. When his employer moved to Topeka, so did Hoyt. By then, he was working as a mechanic. When that company went out of business, Hoyt struck out on his own as an owner operator. In 1993, though, he returned to his roots in truck maintenance and opened a diesel repair shop. Thus, Hoyt’s Truck Center was born.

Today, Hoyt’s stands as an industry-leading truck and trailer repair shop, offering a comprehensive range of services. With four locations, Hoyt’s is equipped to handle all types of diesel engines and trailers, ranging from light to heavy-duty. The licensed, insured and certified mechanics and friendly staff share a passion for quality work. More important to drivers, they have a reputation for quickly getting drivers back on the road and keeping them there. Boasting a full-service gear shop and over $500,000 in on-site parts inventory, Hoyt’s Truck Center also offers 24-hour roadside emergency service and mobile maintenance vehicles to help drivers out of difficult situations.

OTC truckers can drive around 500 to 600 miles in a day, so their vehicles are subject to a lot more wear and tear than a standard car or truck. With so many moving parts and components, it’s challenging to keep track of a regular maintenance schedule and fit service in between trips. Without required maintenance, a truck’s life can be short and costly for a carrier. Frequent breakdowns are even more expensive for drivers, who count on consistent miles to earn their weekly pay.

Efficiency: The goal for both Savannah Transport and our drivers

Chris Nocktonick, the service manager at Hoyt’s Truck Center, is responsible for scheduling service for the Savannah Transport Vehicles. Chris and the service team at Hoyt’s also keep track of the drivers’ maintenance schedule. Anytime a vehicle is due for service, the service team calls the driver to schedule the next time they come through town.

“Because all the trucks and trailers come here first, Savannah Transport rarely, if ever, has breakdowns. We want the same success for the Savannah drivers as they do for themselves, so it works out pretty well.”  – Chris Nocktonick
