Flexible — Driver-managed

Our drivers earn 1.5 days off for every seven days out. When you stay out for an extended period on your OTR run, then you can take all accrued days off at the same time.

Q: Do you offer paid vacation days?

As a Savannah Transport driver, you receive one week of vacation after your first year, two weeks after your second year and three weeks after five years.

Q: How do drivers earn bonus pay?

Drive more safe miles

Obviously, we promote safety for our hazmat CDL driver jobs. Driving more safe miles builds a bigger paycheck.

  • Drive 10,000 safe miles in a month, and you earn a bonus of $0.03 per mile on all of the month’s miles.
  • If you drive 13,000 safe miles during the month, you instead receive a bonus of $0.05 per mile on all of the month’s miles.
  • Should you reach 15,000 miles for the month, your Safe Miles Bonus is $0.06 per mile on all of the month’s miles.

The clock for Safe Bonus Miles starts on the first day of the month and stops on the last day of the month for all trips turned in.

Q: Do you offer a driver referral bonus to your current drivers?

Under the terms of our driver referral program, we pay Savannah Transport drivers a $2,000 referral bonus for every driver they bring in. You receive $500 on the day the new driver is hired, another $500 upon their completing six months of service and a final installment of $1,000 on their first anniversary date.

Quality trucks

Our fleet is mainly comprised of late-model Freightliners. Around 80% of our equipment is under six years old. Rotating new equipment through the fleet lets us provide our drivers with safe, quality trucks and trailers.

Every driver deserves a reliable truck, but that’s even more important for hazmat jobs. Hoyt’s Truck Center (at the Savannah terminal in Topeka, Kansas) services all our trucks monthly. Your equipment is safe in the hands of expert technicians skilled in truck, trailer and diesel repair.

Q: How long is orientation?

Two days, two locations

You begin orientation with a day in our Topeka, Kansas, office. You then drive your loaded truck to West Jordan, Utah, for the second day.

Q: Do you pay orientation travel expenses?

We pay to get you here

We arrange for you to arrive by rental car or plane – whichever works for you.

Q: Do you provide lodging and food during orientation?

We pay for your lodging during orientation, but food will be your responsibility.

Q: Do you pay drivers during orientation?

Paid orientation

You receive 8 hours of orientation pay for your first day in Topeka, together with 4 hours of pay for your second day in West Jordan, Utah.

Savannah Transport is proud to be a trucking company that allows pets. (Ask Hoyt about the co-pilot on his first truck!) We offer a no-cost pet policy that allows dogs and cats on board: two small or one large, with a combined weight limit of 60 pounds.
